Job Title: Policy Researcher + REMOVED
Working For: Britain Remade
Location: London
Salary: £35,000–£45,000 depending on experience
Length of Contract: Permanent
Job Details
Britain Remade is a cross-party campaign group advocating for clean growth. We believe Britain is held back because it's too difficult to build the clean energy sources, transport links, and new housing we need to boost our economy and achieve net zero.
We're looking for a Policy Researcher to join our friendly and dynamic team. You will work directly with our Head of Policy to help shape our approach on energy, housing, and transport.
About the Role
As our Policy Researcher, you will:
- Work closely with the Head of Policy to develop Britain Remade’s policy positions.
- Write briefing papers, opinion articles, and blog posts on key issues.
- Keep track of policy developments in energy, housing, and transport.
- Represent Britain Remade publicly across media platforms (broadcast, print, social media).
- Present findings and engage with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and media representatives.
- Analyse data to generate practical policy insights.
Britain Remade is a national campaign. If you're successful, expect to travel across the UK visiting everything from nuclear power stations in Wales to offshore wind farms off the coast of Aberdeen.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Excellent persuasive writing skills.
- Solid grasp of economics and public policy with the ability to clearly explain complex ideas.
- Genuine passion for economic growth and Britain Remade’s policy areas.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver quality work quickly.
- Comfort with data analysis and interpretation.
- Desirable:
- Experience with statistical software like Stata or R (advanced Excel skills are equally valued).
- Previous experience writing policy reports.
- Specialist knowledge in housing, transport, or energy policy.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone proactive, self-motivated, and genuinely interested in shaping UK policy. You might have experience as a policy researcher, a relevant master's degree, parliamentary experience, or simply an active interest demonstrated through your own writing or blogs. You’re comfortable with data and statistics and eager to learn new skills—whether that’s using AI to assess planning applications, mapping software for urban planning, or digging through archives for research.
Closing Date: 21 April 2025
Interview/Start Dates
This is an open recruitment process, and we will appoint as soon as we identify an
excellent candidate, please apply at the earliest opportunity.
