We are looking for a Policy and Public Affairs Officer to help deliver our busy advocacy programme. This is a new role within a small but rapidly growing industry body representing a high-profile growth sector, meaning that this is an exciting, fast-paced and varied position. It will suit a highly motivated individual, who is able to build on their existing political and/or advocacy experience and is happy to get stuck into a wide range of activities, so that we can accelerate the UK’s EV transition.

Role
• Work with the Head of Policy to develop policy positions and advocate these positions to external stakeholders, engaging members on policy development.
• Support in the management of the policy committee and working groups, including taking minutes – it is likely that you will be asked to take the lead on one or more working groups or areas of policy.
• Build and display in-depth knowledge across all areas of the policy portfolio, proactively monitoring and creating briefings on new and emerging topics.
• Support the Head of Policy to produce high quality reports, consultation responses, briefing documents, speaking notes and presentations, for a variety of audiences.
• Daily monitoring of political developments, producing notes on relevant developments and forward-planning to anticipate key events.
• Strategic stakeholder mapping, building and maintaining relationships with UK parliamentarians and keeping contact records in our database updated on a regular basis.
• Set up meetings and prepare briefing documents, letters and other correspondence in relation to political stakeholder meetings.
• Support in the development and delivery of events – including at party conferences, parliamentary events and member events.
• Contribute political and policy developments to the weekly members newsletter
• Coordinate with comms team to ensure joined up PA-Comms activity

Closing Date: 14 April 2025
