Job Details
Jess Asato MP is looking for a dedicated and hard-working part-time Parliamentary Assistant to support her work in Parliament three days a week (ideally Monday-Wednesday).
The successful candidate will be highly organised and able to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake research on relevant subjects as directed
- Analyse, evaluate, and interpret data to ensure the MP is accurately informed on key issues
- Produce speeches, press releases, briefing notes, minutes, and submissions
- Progress policy casework as required
- Monitor relevant parliamentary business
- Monitor media coverage and brief the MP on relevant issues
- Provide generalist admin support
- Diary management
- Attend and participate in meetings as appropriate
There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
