Job Details

Project Officer
To provide comprehensive support to the Private Secretary (PS) and Deputy Private Secretary (DPS) of HRH The Prince of Wales, in relation to key projects and engagements.

Main Areas of Responsibility:
• Take the lead on the drafting and compiling of reports in relation to key projects and priorities;
• Have continual oversight of The Prince’s official activity and programme of work;
• Alongside other Household departments, contribute to and create impactful programmes of work;
• Keep the PS/DPS updated on topical matters of interest related to the relevant portfolios;
• Undertake stakeholder management and external correspondence;
• Support with internal and external recces as required and proactively follow up ideas, actions, and queries where appropriate;
• With the Visits & Events Team, draft, format, and compile briefing materials for assigned internal or external engagements;
• Liaise with The Royal Foundation and The Earthshot Prize ensuring information flow in both directions is accurate and up to date.

Person Specifications

Essential:
• Previous research and administrative experience, including strong correspondence and stakeholder management skills;
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively;
• Passionate, driven, and well-mannered;
• Excellent interpersonal skills, experience of dealing with broad spectrum of people (personality and seniority);
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and think and plan ahead;
• A flexible, adaptable, and mature approach, ability to use initiative and common sense, think on feet;
• Ability to maintain and exercise tact and discretion, maintaining confidentiality at all times;
• Ability to develop and maintain solid working relationships, work constructively and collaboratively as part of a wider team and across offices.

Desirable
• Experience of working in related fields to the areas of The Prince’s work.

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week worked Monday Friday, and such other hours that are necessary for the proper fulfilment of duties, or to meet unexpected or urgent demands.

Location: Primarily based at Kensington Palace with some travel to other locations (other offices and engagement locations as and when required).

Interview/Start Dates

We are looking to conduct interviews in May and start date will be 6-8 weeks from the successful candidate accepting an offer due to our security clearance processes. This can be discussed further and first-stage interviews.
