Are you passionate about uncovering consumer harm and driving change that will support consumers? Do you have the ability to think strategically and come up with evidence-based, innovative policy solutions? As part of the policy team at Which? you will have the opportunity to get to grips with the challenges facing consumers, work with teams across Which?, as well as a broad range of UK and international experts and stakeholders and shape the way that governments and businesses support consumers navigating complex choices. Currently the role has a focus on how consumers will access and use energy in the years ahead and the EV charging infrastructure, but may change to focus on other consumer issues in the future.
The policy team is part of the Advocacy Group that includes a multidisciplinary group of experts including economists, researchers, data scientists, campaigners, external and public affairs experts. The advocacy group also works closely with other experts across Which? including investigative journalists. We are also members of BEUC and Consumer International that give us access to the experience and knowledge of experts in other jurisdictions.
This role is currently focused on the changes needed to support consumers in the transition to net zero, including changes in how we access and use energy and the EV charging infrastructure but may change over time to focus on wider consumer rights issues.
About you:
- Ability to evaluate and write up research data into reports targeted at a wide range of audiences
- Ability to develop policy lines and solutions to deliver change
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- An appreciation of some of the key issues affecting consumers
- An understanding of consumer issues, (Ideally) sustainability and /or energy markets
