Olly Glover, MP for Didcot and Wantage Constituency is looking for an organised and reliable person to join his constituency team on a fixed term contract, for up to four days a week.

The successful candidate will work with Olly’s Chief of Staff and the casework team to provide information and support to local people, businesses and groups who require the support of their MP.

The ideal candidate will be approachable, organised, and flexible. There are no specific qualifications are required, but we are looking for someone with good IT skills, excellent written English, and experience working in a team.

You do not have to be a Liberal Democrat member, but being comfortable with the party’s policies, aims, and approach to serving the community is important.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the MP’s Inbox and the allocate emails as required to other members of the team
• Manage the MP’s diary and arrange visits in the constituency
• Assist surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate
• Deal with large numbers of standard queries from colleagues, stakeholders and members of the public by email, phone, social media or face to face.
• Critically analyse patterns of enquiries and articulate the findings in reports and communications to the MP and other staff members
• Organise and produce Newsletters and other updates about the MPs work to share with the public and community groups
• Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases
• Support with creating and publishing social media updates and responding to queries in a timely manner
• Provide general administrative support for the constituency office
• There may be a requirement for the postholder to work outside of the normal office hours and travel for work occasionally.
