The Lead Quantitative Analyst will work closely with the Head of Analytics and is focussed on two key areas - an internal focus on strengthening team capabilities and processes, and an external focus on conducting and delivering analysis for clients, including presenting findings and ensuring we address their questions.
This role requires in-office presence three days a week, allowing for close collaboration to maintain the high standards that Crest is known for.
Key responsibilities include:
- Project Leadership: Lead the quantitative aspects of client projects, ensuring statistical rigour and actionable insights. Present findings to clients and provide clear answers to their queries.
- Team Development: Train and mentor analysts in advanced statistical methods, helping the team build confidence and technical skills in quantitative analysis.
- Process Efficiency: Streamline workflows, automate reporting, and create efficient data processes to maximise the team’s productivity.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all quantitative work meets Crest’s standards for reliability and credibility, providing guidance and oversight on project methodologies.
- Business Development: Shape proposals and write bids, ensuring robust quantitative methods are designed within project budgets and timeframes.
Essential skills:
- Advanced quantitative analysis skills with a deep understanding of statistical modelling. An understanding of criminal justice and public policy data.
- Proficiency in R and experience training team members in statistical techniques.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex concepts to senior stakeholders in a clear, accessible way.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, with a talent for supporting and developing junior team members.
