Job Details
Miatta Fahnbulleh MP is looking for a dynamic and highly committed individual for the role of Caseworker in her busy Peckham Constituency office.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Assist with surgeries and other constituency meetings and follow up as appropriate.
- Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting with more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media or face to face. Ongoing communication may be required.
- Draft responses to constituents.
- Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP.
- Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
- Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
- Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act.
- Responsibility for managing the voicemails inbox.
Essential Skills Required:
- Ability to prioritise and manage a large and varied caseload, working well under pressure.
- Handle complex, time-sensitive, and often emotive issues accurately, efficiently, and with empathy.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate case records.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Good IT skills, including experience with MS Office applications.
- Ability to write letters and emails to a high professional standard.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, while also working effectively as part of a small team alongside the Senior Caseworker.
- Support the aims and values of The Labour Party.
Additional information:
There may be a requirement to work outside of normal hours, including evenings and weekends and occasional travel for work.
