Red Rose Associates is an innovative public affairs consultancy focused on helping businesses and organisations engage with and influence the Labour Government.
Our team combines extensive consultancy experience with hands-on experience of working for the Labour Party and in politics over the last 30 years. This gives us a unique insight into the policies, priorities and personalities shaping the current Labour Government, helping our clients stay one step ahead.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Public Affairs Intern to join our growing team. This is a paid role with the potential to become a permanent Junior Consultant.
The Role
Red Rose Associates operates a hybrid working model, with regular office days in Central London.
You may be involved in:
- Political intelligence and policy analysis
- Stakeholder mapping
- Public policy and issues-led campaigns
- Research and analysis
- Supporting new business and marketing initiatives
- Preparing briefing materials and presentations
- Supporting client meetings and events
- Developing and maintaining our associate network
Key Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who is:
- Politically aware, with a good understanding of Labour politics and the current political landscape
- An excellent writer with strong attention to detail
- A confident researcher who can analyse information and communicate key points clearly
- Enthusiastic, proactive and keen to learn
- A team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Familiar with Westminster and the workings of Parliament
- Previous political or public affairs experience would be an advantage. This could include an internship or volunteering with a Labour MP, experience with a political organisation/pressure group, or work in public affairs or communications
You will have the opportunity to:
- Work alongside experienced public affairs advisers and learn from their day-to-day experience
- Get involved in live client projects from day one, gaining practical experience across a range of policy and political issues
- Attend client meetings, political events and Westminster briefings, building your network and understanding of the political landscape
- Gain first-hand insight into how the Labour Government and Parliament work, including political decision-making and policymaking

First-round interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, as soon as possible after Red Rose Associates receives an application it wishes to take forward.
Our aim is for the successful candidate to start from 1 October 2026.
