Job Title: Digital and Media Communications Officer

Working For: Robbie Moore MP (Keighley and Ilkley)

Salary: In line with experience/ IPSA pay scale

Length of Contract: Fixed Term (subject to three-month probation period)

Job Details

The successful candidate be responsible for managing Robbie’s external communications and social media presence. This will involve building a relationship with local and national media, and trade press.

This role is ideal for someone with strong creative instincts and a passion for digital content creation. The candidate will have proven experience creating high impact digital content, including video content, graphic design and a strong ability to grow social media channels. The candidate must be familiar with using design programmes such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign, Captions, and FinalCut, or similar.

The candidate must also have a proven track record of writing press releases, opinion articles and op-ed's to help best communicate and support Robbie's work.

Main duties include, but are not limited to:

• Lead the management and development of the MP’s communications presence, including with local and national press.
• Create high-quality, targeted content across social media, web and email.
• Manage and grow the MP’s social media channels, ensuring content is platform-native and impactful.
• Oversee content for MP's website, newsletter, letters to residents and other communications as required.
• Draft press releases and briefings on constituency and national issues.
• Build and maintain relationships with local media and stakeholders, liaise with local and national media, monitor media.
• Experience developing digital campaigns or audience growth strategies.

Candidates should have the following skills and qualities:

• Strong experience in a creative, communications, PR, media or political role.
• Proven ability to create compelling content across digital platforms, particularly video.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
• Demonstrable experience managing and growing social media accounts, including use of analytics.
• Strong understanding of the media landscape, including local and national press.
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative, proactive and ideas-driven, with a strong eye for engaging content.
• Good political judgement. 
• Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party.
