Job Details
Emma Reynolds MP is looking to appoint a committed and organised Senior Caseworker: Team Leader. Managing a large caseload, organising MP surgeries, and supporting events, you will help resolve issues for local people through liaison with government agencies, local authorities, the voluntary sector, and other organisations. The role includes managing office casework processes and supervising junior staff.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team serving local people and supporting Emma to be an open, caring, and respectful MP.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a high volume of complex cases, logging and monitoring progress, and ensuring data is processed in line with regulations.
• Work with colleagues to identify constituent concerns, spot trends for campaigns and projects, and advise the MP and team as appropriate.
• Draft clear, professional correspondence on behalf of the MP.
• Organise surgeries, events and meetings as required.
• Be willing to work outside of normal hours and travel when necessary.
• Support the Caseworker(s) in their ongoing growth and development.
Person Specification
• Ability to prioritise a demanding workload, work independently, manage competing priorities, and use initiative, with strong organisation and attention to detail under pressure.
• Ability to manage expectations in challenging circumstances.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic, able to take initiative, manage own workload, and oversee others.
• Discretion, empathy and care when dealing with sensitive or emotional issues.
• Commitment to public service and supporting constituents from all backgrounds.
• Experience in local government, the third sector, trade unions or a similar environment is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365.
• Sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party.
Location and Working Arrangements
This is a full-time and is based in the Wycombe constituency office. The position is not offered on a home-working basis. The expectation is a minimum of four days per week working from the office, with flexibility for an average of one home-working day per week. There are opportunities to attend trainings and events in Westminster on an ad hoc basis as agreed by the Office Manager.
