About NorthPoint Strategy
NorthPoint Strategy is a specialist public affairs and political communications consultancy firm based in the City of London.
We help organisations influence policy, shape public debate and protect their reputation in complex political, regulatory and media environments. Combining political insight with strategic communications expertise, we deliver clear advice, practical solutions and tangible outcomes.
As a small, hands-on team, interns work alongside our consultants from day one, contributing directly to live client projects.
The opportunity
This three-month long internship is designed for recent university graduates looking to begin a career in public affairs or political communications. You'll gain first-hand experience of working on client accounts across Westminster and the wider UK political landscape.
This is an opportunity for someone who has a genuine passion for politics and current affairs, follows the news beyond the headlines, and wants to understand how policy is shaped.
What you'll do
You'll support the NPS team across a range of client and business projects by:
- Monitoring political, policy and media developments across Westminster and the devolved administrations
- Researching new legislation, consultations and regulatory issues
- Drafting policy briefings, stakeholder maps and outreach, and client updates
- Assisting with event planning and parliamentary engagement
- Producing high-quality written content, including articles, social media posts and thought-leadership pieces
- Contributing ideas during client and internal strategy sessions
What we’re looking for
- A recent university graduate (no specific subject requirements)
- A strong academic track record
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research and analytical ability
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Most importantly, you will have a genuine interest in UK politics and current affairs, with a desire to build a career in public affairs.
Requirements
- The legal right to work in the UK
- An undergraduate/postgraduate degree
Closing Date: 20 September 2026
Interview/Start Dates
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged and we reserve the right to close the vacancy early.
