Daisy Cooper MP is looking for an Economic Researcher to support her work as Treasury Spokesperson for the Liberal Democrats. The postholder will work closely with the Party’s Economy & Business Adviser, Business Engagement Manager, and wider Economic and Business team.

Key responsibilities

Policy Development: Assist in the formation and analysis of economic and business policies
Stakeholder Management: Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Research and Analysis: Conduct extensive research and provide detailed analysis on economic and business issues
Communication: Prepare reports, briefings, and speeches

Skills required

Start-up mentality: approaching challenges with a fresh perspective and a drive to create new and improved policy solutions
Highly motivated and a self-starter
Strong understanding of the economic & business policy space and the key debates within it
Experience undertaking economic research and/or working on economic policy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to think creatively and solve problems
Sound political judgement and experience of working in or around a political setting
Ability to handle matters sensitively, confidentially, and to work well as part of a small team
Sympathetic to the aims and objectives of the Liberal Democrats
