About the role
As a Development Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our members receive outstanding support and development. You will lead our work in the East Midlands, East England and London, while working collaboratively with colleagues to support members across England and the wider UK.
You will maintain regular two-way dialogue with members to promote engagement, gather insights and identify support needs. You will provide specialist advice on areas such as charity governance, funding, volunteer management and stakeholder engagement. You will also promote CTA’s training programme (MiDAS) and represent CTA at events, forums and conferences.
What we’re looking for
You’ll live within, or be able to travel easily to, the East Midlands, East England or London, with the flexibility to travel further afield across England and the UK when needed.
- Experience working in, or with, community groups or charities to strengthen their services and performance.
- Experience working with public sector bodies and supporting cross-sector collaboration.
- Experience in at least one area of organisational development, such as governance, funding, volunteer management or stakeholder engagement.
- A self-motivated approach to learning the technical aspects of the role, and the ability to explain these clearly and confidently to members.
- A knack for getting to the bottom of members’ needs and using your knowledge and experience to support them to find the right solution.
- Excellent writing, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to work on your own initiative.
- A demonstrable commitment to CTA’s values and to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Transport knowledge is a bonus, not a must. What matters most is a genuine interest in the sector and a willingness to learn.
