Job Details
Bayo Alaba MP is looking for an empathetic and committed Caseworker to support his work across Southend East and Rochford.
The Caseworker will support constituents on a range of issues, including housing, welfare and immigration and will help to resolve problems through communication with government agencies, local authorities, the voluntary sector and other organisations.
Key responsibilities:
• Engaging professionally with members of the public and retaining confidentiality.
• Managing large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media, or face-to-face.
• Working collaboratively across the team to raise important issues and patterns of enquiries internally.
• Ensuring accurate records are kept and information is managed confidentially in line with data protection legislation.
• Assisting with surgeries and other meetings as appropriate.
Required skills, experience, and qualities:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work with tact and discretion.
• Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be comfortable dealing with the public and managing expectations.
• Proactive research and problem-solving skills
• The ability to prioritise tasks effectively, and to work well and keep calm under pressure and to tight deadlines.
