Job Details
The Casework Assistant will support the delivery of constituency services by assisting with progression of constituent casework. The role includes providing frontline support to constituents, maintaining accurate records, assisting with correspondence and supporting the wider team in responding to local issues and campaigns. The successful candidate will manage casework using the office casework system, ensuring records are accurate, up to date and handled confidentially in line with GDPR and parliamentary requirements. They will monitor deadlines and support the progression of cases. The postholder will act as a first point of contact for constituents by telephone, email and written correspondence, responding professionally and sensitively to enquiries and referring complex matters where appropriate. They will assist with case triage, prepare draft correspondence, gather information and liaise with government departments, local authorities and other organisations. The Casework Assistant will support constituency engagement activities including campaigns, consultations, surveys, petitions, public meetings and community events, alongside general administrative duties.
Essential Skills and Experience: Strong administrative and organisational skills; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to handle sensitive and confidential information; strong attention to detail; ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure; good IT skills, including Microsoft Office; ability to work effectively within a team; commitment to high standards of public service.
Desirable Skills and Experience:Experience in administration, customer service, public sector or casework roles; experience using case management systems; knowledge of public services, government agencies or parliamentary processes; understanding of GDPR and data protection requirements.
The successful candidate will be professional with strong interpersonal skills and an interest in public service and community engagement. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Interview/Start Dates
The closing time is 5pm. Interviews will be held on Wednesday the 16th of September. Subject to parliamentary security vetting, the proposed start date would be in October 2026.
