NorthStar Advisory is seeking a Research Analyst to support the founding partners in producing client-facing analysis, presentations and social media content.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the founding partners across a range of research, analytical and communications work, including:

• Preparing NorthStar Advisory’s weekly client report covering UK politics, geopolitics and other issues.
• Monitoring international affairs, energy and climate policy, and macroeconomic trends and UK political developments.
• Supporting the preparation of presentations, briefings and written analysis for senior clients.
• Conducting rapid research and analysis on policy, political and geopolitical developments, synthesising information and identifying the key implications for clients.
• Producing social media content based on NorthStar’s work.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with:

• Experience and expertise in geopolitics and a strong interest in UK politics and public policy.
• Strong analytical judgment and the ability to identify what matters from large volumes of information.
• The ability to write clearly, concisely and persuasively.
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confidence working in a supportive, fast-moving and intellectually rigorous environment.
• Ability to use AI tools effectively and accountably to support research and analytical work.
• PowerPoint and presentation preparation skills.
• Prior professional experience is desirable but not essential.
• Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

Desirable Backgrounds

• Journalism or political research

Working Arrangements

The role is full-time. Work will be a mix of remote and central London-based.
We can offer flexibility in working hours where compatible with client requirements and deadlines. The role does not normally require evening work but supporting our weekly report will involve minimal weekend work (typically 1-2 hours).
