Essential experience and skills
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Exceptional strategic and political judgement, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex and fast-moving environments.
- Exceptional leadership and management skills, including the ability to lead, develop and motivate multiple complex teams.
- Exceptional planning and delivery skills, with the ability to develop and implement campaigns, projects and engagement programmes over the medium and long term.
- Exceptional ability to bring people together around a common purpose and build effective relationships across a complex organisation.
- Excellent understanding of political campaigning, including the ability to identify and apply effective campaigning techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to different people, situations and levels of seniority.
- Excellent judgement, discretion and diplomacy, particularly when working in highly sensitive or politically challenging environments.
- Good understanding of governance and volunteer-led organisations, including the ability to work effectively with Party Committees and volunteers and maintain their confidence.
- Good financial and commercial management skills, including experience in managing budgets and contracts.
- Proven ability to understand, support and motivate volunteers and to work effectively within volunteer-led organisations.
- Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats.
