Job Title: Associate

Working For: Charlesbye

Location: London

Salary: £28,000-£32,000, dependent on experience

Length of Contract: Permanent

Job Details

Charlesbye is looking for a bright, ambitious and driven individual ready to take their next career step and join our thriving integrated public affairs and communications team.

We're looking for someone with experience in politics, business, or public affairs who's ready to progress their career at a competitive, fast-growing agency, based in our London Bridge office.

The role

Associates form the foundation of delivery across our accounts, providing essential support to smooth day-to-day delivery and exceptional team and client service. You'll be the first line of monitoring and briefing - translating political, media, and stakeholder developments into clear, actionable updates — while building strong foundations in research, drafting, communication, and organisation.

What you'll be doing

  • Conducting high-quality political, media, and stakeholder monitoring, and summarising the implications for client teams.
  • Drafting accurate, timely briefings for internal and client use.
  • Preparing agendas, taking notes, and managing follow-up actions from meetings.
  • Supporting outreach and engagement programmes.
  • Assisting with drafting materials such as press notices, consultation responses, and briefing notes.
  • Setting up and managing client calls, ensuring logistics and preparation are seamless.
  • Building relationships with researchers and other political stakeholders, and developing your own political network.
  • Planning and running events.
  • Contributing to team discussions and account delivery with enthusiasm and reliability.

What we’re looking for:

  • Up to two years' experience, having started your career in consultancy, public affairs, or communications.
  • A strong understanding of UK politics, parliament, and/or the media landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and keep track of multiple strands of monitoring across government sources, media, and external reports.
  • A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced team.
  • Reliable, thorough, and meticulous in execution, with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Closing Date: 16 September 2026
