Job Details
Anna Gelderd MP is seeking a motivated and organised Caseworker and Office Assistant to join her constituency team.
This is a six-month fixed-term post to support increased workload demands and cover staff absences. There may be the opportunity for a part-time role following the the fixed-term contract.
The successful candidate will provide support across a range of constituency activities, including policy and campaign casework, constituent correspondence, administrative support, stakeholder engagement, and the day-to-day operation of the constituency office.
This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 20% of contracted hours based in the constituency office in Liskeard, plus additional time spent supporting the MP at meetings, events, and constituency engagements across South East Cornwall.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and progress constituency casework on behalf of constituents.
• Support policy and campaign-related casework and projects.
• Draft correspondence, briefings, and responses on a range of issues.
• Provide general administrative support to the MP and constituency office.
• Assist with diary management, events, meetings, and stakeholder engagement.
• Support communications and community engagement activities as required.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
Person Specification
Essential requirements:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
• Experience of managing competing priorities and working under pressure.
• Commitment to providing excellent service to constituents.
• Must live within the South East Cornwall constituency or within a reasonable commuting distance.
• Must hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicle for work purposes.
• Successful applicants will be required to maintain appropriate business use (Class 1) motor insurance. Mileage expenses will be payable in accordance with Parliamentary guidelines.
Additional Information
• Occasional weekend working may be required to support events and constituency activities.
