Job Title: Constituency Support Manager

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead constituency campaigns, outreach and engagement activity.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Government agencies, Parish and Town Councils, voluntary, community and faith groups, and other stakeholders to resolve constituency matters and strengthen the MP's local presence.
  • Handle enquiries and correspondence from constituents and stakeholders including on behalf of the MP where appropriate.
  • Manage and progress a casework portfolio as required.
  • Research local, regional and national issues, provide briefings and support the MP's decision-making.
  • Manage projects from development through delivery.
  • Organise and support surgeries, meetings and events, including follow-up actions and coordinating MP attendance at constituency engagements.
  • Support social media, communications and digital engagement strategies, including creating graphics, video and written content, promoting surgeries and news, responding to online engagement, and overseeing website and social media platforms.
  • Monitor media coverage
  • Support the MP's objectives through effective communications and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure records are maintained accurately, confidentially and in compliance with data protection requirements.
  • Undertake occasional out-of-hours work, travel, and other duties as reasonably required.

Person Specification

  • Strong stakeholder management and networking skills, with the confidence to build relationships across a wide range of organisations and individuals.
  • Excellent organisational, project management, research, writing, communication and administrative skills.
  • Ability to manage a demanding workload and high volumes of correspondence independently, efficiently and to deadline.
  • Ability to prioritise and coordinate multiple activities effectively.
  • Personable, approachable and able to represent the MP positively in all interactions.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the initiative to identify issues and opportunities and act on them.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable

  • Experience of community engagement and development, with an understanding of building trust, participation and local networks.
  • Working knowledge of North Warwickshire and Bedworth.
  • Political awareness and understanding of the political environment.
  • Sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party.
