Job Details

The Rt Hon Victoria Atkins MP is looking to recruit a full time Support Officer to join her team. This is a junior level Parliamentary position, working for Victoria in her role as MP for Louth & Horncastle.

This is an ideal role for someone with excellent written communication skills, who is highly organ
ised and confident in dealing with members of the public. They will be expected to produce clear
and accurate correspondence, help respond to queries via email, social media, and in person. The
successful candidate will also assist Victoria with constituency surgeries, visits and meetings, pro
viding professional support and ensuring all follow-up actions are completed. Attention to detail,
political awareness, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively are essential.

The role will be based full-time either in the constituency office or in London. Some flexibility in
working hours and occasional travel may be required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting accurate, sensitive responses to constituents on casework and policy issues.
  • Managing casework from initial contact to resolution, maintaining confidentiality throughout
  • Liaising with government agencies and organisations on behalf of constituents
  • Analysing casework trends and preparing reports
  • Attending constituency meetings and visit
  • Supporting digital communication efforts, including content creation and managing social media
  • Assisting with the wider communications work of the MP as required

Essential skills:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong digital literacy and familiarity with social media platforms
  • Ability to manage an independent workload and support the wider constituency team
  • Empathy, discretion and a strong sense of public service
  • An interest in current affairs and sympathy with the aims and values of the Conservative Party

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of current local issues in the constituency of Louth & Horncastle
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Experience in dealing with the data system caseworker mp.
