Salary: £27,000-£35,000 FTE depending on experience

Job Details

Maya is looking for two enthusiastic and community-minded Caseworkers to join her friendly and supportive constituency team based in Ribchester. This is an opportunity to do meaningful work that has a direct impact on people's lives. Every day is different, and you will help constituents navigate public services, resolve problems, and access the support they need. Political experience is not required, but successful candidates will be expected to support Labour values and demonstrate a commitment to fairness, equality, social justice, and public service.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage a varied caseload of constituent enquiries and requests for support.
• Communicate with constituents by telephone, email, letter and in person.
• Research issues and identify practical solutions.
• Liaise with government departments, local authorities, NHS organisations, housing providers and other agencies.
• Draft correspondence on behalf of the MP.
• Maintain accurate and confidential casework records.
• Prepare briefing notes and support constituency surgeries and meetings.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Experience of managing a varied workload and competing priorities.
• Experience of administrative work and maintaining accurate records.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to analyse information and exercise sound judgement.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.

Desirable Criteria
• Previous experience working as a Constituency Caseworker for a Member of Parliament or Local Authority.
• An interest in and understanding of local and national policy.
• Experience using case management, CRM or contact management systems.
• Experience liaising with public bodies and service providers.
• Experience drafting formal correspondence, reports or briefings.
• Understanding of and commitment to Labour values including fairness, equality and social justice.

Interview/Start Dates

An initial online interview and writing test will likely take place the week of 28th September 2026, with final interviews taking place in person later that week, or into week of 5th October 2026. Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance.
