Salary: £26,936-£32,000 depending on experience and pro-rated to the hours of work 

Length of Contract: Fixed-term contract for 12 months

Job Details

Policy Connect is looking for an ambition project coordinator to join our Health Policy team.

The role holder will focus on

  • Organising and delivering policy events and meetings in Parliament.
  • Contributing to the development of our health policy agenda.
  • Leading the Health team’s policy and political monitoring.
  • Supporting the Health team’s external communications.
  • Maintaining and developing the Health team’s stakeholder database.
  • Supporting the work of the All-Party Parliamentary Health Group.
  • In the medium to long term, there will be flexibility for the role to develop in response to the interests, skills and strengths of the successful candidate.

Person requirements
Essential

  • Passion for Health policy and interest in Public Health issues.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to independently initiate and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent writing and desk-research skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information and present it with concision and clarity.
  • Able to work autonomously and take initiative (i.e. exploiting opportunities and solving problems, while also making considered judgements about how and when to enlist support and guidance from more experienced colleagues).
  • Excellent organisational, time management and project support skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of different stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly develop understanding of new topical areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including confident, professional communication with senior stakeholders, including parliamentarians, clinicians and industry).
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Flexible and adaptable to new and changing contexts (such as political change and working tasks).
  • Willingness to combine policy work with the event logistics and administration the role involves.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Right to work in the UK (we are not able to sponsor a visa for this role)

Desirable

  • Events organisation
  • Experience of working in a policy or public affairs environment.
  • Experience of working in the Health policy and Public health sectors.
  • Experience working with Canva
