Kevin Bonavia MP is looking for a part time (21 hours per week) constituency caseworker to join his excellent Stevenage constituency office team.

• The work will primarily be remote after an initial induction period in the Stevenage constituency office, with flexibility available.
• The role will be working with the Senior Caseworker, who will allocate cases and provide support.
• The successful candidate will have previous experience of dealing with MP’s constituency casework and would be required to approach their work with compassion and professionalism, whilst also offering advice and assistance to constituents on a range of issues.
• The casework would consist mostly of interacting with local and other public authorities on constituents’ behalf.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deal with the allocated constituent enquires; triage them by liaising with local authorities, volunteer groups, charities and other organisations.
• Communicate and interact with constituents concerning their enquires in a compassionate and professional manner.
• Ensure each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the wishes and direction of the MP and line managed by the senior caseworker.
• Log all cases using Caseworker.MP, monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
• Retain records and information confidentially and in line with data protection regulations.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Ability to deal with a varied and busy workload of constituency casework.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the highest quality written communication skills
• Ability to draft letters and emails to the highest professional standards.
• Motivation to work proactively and independently as well as with a small team.
• Commitment to the aims and values of the Labour Party.
• Previous casework experience essential.
