The Conservative Environment Network (CEN) is the home for conservatives who support responsible environmental leadership. We are looking for a personable and organised political engagement manager to support the growth of CEN’s network.

Conservatives inherently care about protecting the environment for future generations. We want to mobilise more of them at all levels of politics to help us develop the solutions we need on climate change and nature loss.

The successful candidate will work across CEN’s networks and will have the opportunity to bring their own ideas on growing support for CEN’s mission. We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate a strong track record of engaging conservatives and growing networks, with an enthusiasm for working on environmental issues.

Responsibilities:

• Manage our Westminster caucus and Scottish parliamentary group, growing the membership, producing regular updates, and identifying opportunities to get input into our work.
• Develop our councillor network by helping to grow the network, create resources for CEN councillors, produce newsletters and magazines, and hold events.
• Develop our supporter and ambassador networks by helping to shape our events and sending out regular newsletters, to create opportunities to input into our work, meet like-minded people, and support CEN’s mission
• Oversee our Next Gen CEN youth programme by supporting our events programme and sending out regular newsletters, to offer young people the opportunity to network, share their ideas, and learn about conservative environmentalism

Required:

• At least two years’ experience building a membership programme and/or engaging with conservatives in a professional capacity
• A positive, approachable, professional demeanour and solid political acumen
• Excellent organisational skills
• An extensive network of conservatives across the UK and the ability to form successful working relationships within CEN and with external stakeholders.
• Deep belief in CEN’s core mission and values and a desire to advance environmentalism on the UK right-of-centre
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce compelling and concise written output
• A curious and keen intellect and a willingness to learn and develop different skills
