WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
You will help manage and grow the Group’s presence across X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. This will include creating original content, filming and editing video, producing graphics and photography, writing sharp copy and turning parliamentary work, campaigns and political developments into engaging digital content.

You will monitor political media coverage and parliamentary business, respond quickly to breaking news, manage the content calendar, work with MSPs and parliamentary staff and use analytics to improve performance and reach new audiences.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS
• Hands-on experience managing professional, political, public-facing or high-profile social media accounts.
• Excellent knowledge of X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, including their audiences, formats and content styles.
• Strong filming, photography, video-editing and visual-content skills.
• Experience creating Reels, Stories, Shorts and other short-form video content.
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and engaging copy.
• The ability to turn complex political or parliamentary issues into simple, accessible and shareable content.
• Creativity, initiative and the confidence to generate fresh content ideas.
• Excellent attention to detail and consistently high standards.
• The ability to work quickly, independently and under pressure, including to tight deadlines.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience using relevant editing, design and social media management tools.
• An understanding of social media analytics and how to use performance data to improve content.

Previous political experience is not essential, but you should be curious, politically aware and able to understand the stories and issues we communicate.

THE PERSON
We are looking for someone creative, energetic, ambitious and genuinely passionate about social media. You should be comfortable filming, editing, writing posts, running channels and reviewing analytics.

You should be able to spot a strong story, choose the right format, and produce content that looks professional, feels relevant and makes people stop scrolling.
