The role comprises four days per week supporting Woking Liberal Democrats and one day per week providing non-party-political constituency support to Will Forster MP. You will help build on the election of Will as MP in 2024 and the party’s success in the 2026 local elections, while helping constituents receive a prompt and professional service.

• Coordinate and deliver the local campaign plan on time and within budget.
• Organise canvassing, telephone campaigning, leaflet production and distribution.
• Recruit, support and train volunteers.
• Produce effective print, digital and social media communications.
• Use campaign data to inform activity and support fundraising and donor engagement.
• Promote the work of Liberal Democrat councillors and collaborate with neighbouring campaign teams.

As Constituency Support Officer, you will:

• Draft, prepare and print correspondence to constituents, gather information and ensure agreed actions are completed.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with data protection requirements.
• Organise and support the MP’s surgeries, visits and meetings.
• Support regular engagement between the MP and key stakeholders, including businesses, charities and public-sector organisations.
• Analyse patterns of enquiries and prepare reports.
• Support the MP’s non-party-political communications, including social media, online content, press releases and media monitoring.

You will need excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills; strong organisation and judgement; the ability to work independently and meet deadlines; confidence working with volunteers, constituents and people from varied backgrounds; political awareness; discretion; and sympathy with Liberal Democrat values.

Experience of campaigning, communications, community engagement or constituency work would be an advantage, but training and support will be provided. Some evening or weekend work and occasional travel may be required.

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
