Job Details

Dr Luke Evans MP is recruiting a Constituency Assistant for his busy constituency office.

This is an entry-level post, but previous experience is welcome. You should be proactive, dedicated, and have a keen eye for detail. You should be clear and concise in your communications and have a great manner with members of the public.

Customer service is key.

Training will be provided, we are looking for that positive, can-do attitude and someone who takes pride in projects and helping others.

We are flexible on whether this will be either a full or part-time position. 

Applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a small team. A good telephone manner and strong written skills are essential. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, responsible, able to use initiative and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines. 

The role will give you a good breadth of experience within an MP's office, not only supporting with the admin and casework but helping with the communications aspect, including local press, social media and video. Therefore, an appetite to learn about media and the research required to put together a press release, social media post or video is essential.

Priority will be given to candidates with knowledge of the Hinckley and Bosworth constituency and local issues.

Key responsibilities:

• Administrative support.
• Assisting with updating Luke’s website and social media.
• Dealing with large numbers of standard queries.
• Assisting with more complex cases.
• Logging cases, monitoring progress and ensuring effective action is taken.
• Ensuring records are kept and information managed carefully, and confidentially.
• Analysing patterns of enquiries in case a wider campaign is required.
• Assisting with Luke’s communications strategy.
• Engaging with the public by phone, email and in person.
• Assisting with political and communications research.
• Contributing to wider office projects.

There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally, including to Parliament. The role is primarily office-based in Hinckley, but there is capacity for a small degree of remote working. 

Support for the Conservative Party and its aims is essential.

Interview/Start Dates

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online interview on the morning of 6th November 2026.

Any job offer will be subject to successful security clearance.  The start date will likely be January 2027.
