Dr Luke Evans MP is recruiting a Support Officer to join his Parliamentary team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role combining communications, constituent engagement, Parliamentary support and casework.

The successful applicant will help to communicate Luke's work effectively across a range of channels, including social media, traditional media and in print. They will need to be able to identify interesting stories, research them thoroughly, understand what matters to constituents and present information clearly and accurately.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent standard of written English and be able to adapt their writing style for different audiences. They will be a strong independent worker who can manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement and think critically.

Customer service is also key. 

Previous parliamentary experience is not essential. We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised, dependable and keen to learn. Training will be provided.

Applicants should have good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively within a small team. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, responsible, able to use initiative and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.

Priority will be given to candidates with knowledge of the Hinckley and Bosworth constituency and local issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting Luke's communications strategy
• Assisting with the creation of social media content
• Producing written communications, press releases and constituent-facing material
• Monitoring media coverage and identifying opportunities
• Filming and producing Westminster-based content
• Dealing with large volumes of constituent correspondence
• Drafting responses to constituents on a wide range of issues
• Logging cases, monitoring progress and ensuring appropriate follow-up action is taken
• Ensuring records are maintained accurately, and confidentially
• Conducting research and producing briefings
• Analysing patterns of enquiries and identifying emerging issues
• Contributing to wider office projects

There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside normal office hours and travel occasionally in connection with work.

Support for the Conservative Party and its aims is essential.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online interview on the afternoon of 12th November 2026.

Any job offer will be subject to successful security clearance. The start date will likely be January 2027.
