Role overview

British Future, a leading independent think tank on issues of immigration, integration, race and identity is looking for an experienced researcher to work on a groundbreaking research project on race equity in the UK.

The post holder will lead the work of the project for four days a week, and on other research activities for one day. This will include developing proposals for new research projects.

The project, funded by the Nuffield Foundation, is aimed at understanding what is needed to bring about real and lasting change to address racial inequities in the UK. Through a programme of research, it will identify priorities for change, take these forward with policymakers and politicians, and feed back to stakeholders to inform their own strategies.

Over 2027, the researcher will establish relationships with schools and work with young people to research their experiences and aspirations for themselves and for the UK, before producing a policy report and manifesto based on the findings. Following this, the final year of the project in 2028 will involve a major study involving quantitative polling research and focus groups to inform the upcoming political manifestos.
