Do you want to make a real difference to people’s lives and help deliver political change in Hertfordshire? Do you want to work with 2 MPs, County and District Councillors to build on the Hertfordshire Liberal Democrats’ historic 2025 county election result? If so, this could be the role for you.

With Unitary elections and a General Election potentially coming at any moment, we are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated person to help build our volunteer infrastructure, produce literature, manage our bulk buy programme and support county-wide communications.

Key Tasks

  • Link the county campaign team with local teams, supporting campaign leads and activists.
  • Monitor campaign data and developments to inform strategy and targets.
  • Offer direct election support to campaign teams in the Central and Eastern parts of the county, including leaflet production, volunteer recruitment and mobilisation.
  • Lead the county-wide literature bulk buy programme, working with printers to secure deals and ensure high-quality literature is delivered on schedule.
  • Assist the Liberal Democrat group in Hertfordshire County Council to produce and disseminate regular campaign packs, including press releases and leaflet inserts for campaign teams to use.
  • Draft and deliver training sessions for campaigners and volunteers.
  • Attend meetings and training as required.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Highly organised, self-motivated and able to manage your own workload.
  • Able to manage multiple projects, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience engaging and motivating volunteers.
  • Enthusiasm for developing others’ skills and confidence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and persuade.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and social media.
  • Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats.

Desirable

  • Experience with Liberal Democrat IT packages, including Connect, Lighthouse and Affinity Publisher.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Experience delivering training or planning projects.
  • Understanding of political messaging and graphic design.
