Job Details

Allison is looking for a proactive and highly organised Community Outreach and Campaigns Officer to help the MP stay connected to residents, identify local issues and turn them into effective campaigns and action.

This is a hands-on role, involving regular time in the community, organising outreach and engagement, leading local campaigns and supporting Allison’s communications.
The role requires regular travel across the constituency and weekend working, including attendance at community events and campaign activity. 

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and organise proactive community outreach across the constituency, including leafleting, street surgeries, coffee mornings and engagement events.
- Build strong relationships with residents, community groups, local organisations and other stakeholders.
- Identify emerging issues and concerns through community engagement and lead local campaigns in response.
- Produce professional copy, press releases, photography, video and digital content to support campaigns, projects and outreach.
- Produce and distribute a monthly constituency newsletter, maintain the MP’s website, support managing the MP's mailing lists, and social media platforms, including X, and LinkedIn.
- Manage multiple projects alongside urgent enquiries and changing priorities.
- Travel regularly across the constituency and attend events and campaign activity outside normal office hours, including weekends.

You will:
- Have a good understanding of Stoke-on-Trent South and its communities.
- Enjoy working with the public and building relationships.
- Be confident engaging with residents on the doorstep, in the street and at community events.
- Be a good listener and team player.
- Have experience delivering projects to a high professional standard, with great copywriting skills and an ability to communicate clearly with different audiences.
- Have experience producing high-quality digital content, including video and be comfortable managing websites, social media and mailing lists.
- Be able to manage competing priorities and respond to urgent issues.
- Be proactive, organised and able to take responsibility for getting things done.
- Be willing and able to work evenings and weekends when required.
- Be able to drive and have full use of a car.
- Must be sympathetic to the aims and values of the Labour Party.
