This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced communications professional to join a leading public affairs agency and help shape conversations that matter across their portfolio of healthcare clients
You will work closely with account teams, clients and senior stakeholders to set media objectives, identify opportunities and deliver communications that influence debate and support positive change.
Key responsibilities
- Lead healthcare media relations across policy, political and reputational issues, securing thoughtful and relevant coverage in national, trade and broadcast media.
- Run press office activity, including monitoring the news agenda, responding to journalist enquiries, preparing lines to take and coordinating reactive communications.
- Develop news angles from research, data, reports, policy announcements and client expertise, creating stories that earn attention and contribute meaningfully to public debate.
- Build and maintain journalist relationships across healthcare, politics, business and national news, with a strong understanding of what makes a story useful and credible.
- Handle sensitive issues with sound judgement, discretion and composure, helping clients prepare for scrutiny and respond effectively under pressure.
- Draft and edit high-quality materials, including press releases, briefing notes, Q&As, comment pieces, media statements and stakeholder communications.
- Coordinate delivery across internal teams, external partners and senior client contacts, keeping work focused, accurate and on schedule.
Essential experience and skills
- Relevant experience in media relations, public affairs, strategic communications
- A strong understanding of the healthcare media landscape
- Hands-on press office experience i
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to make complex subjects clear, accurate and engaging.
- Confidence advising clients and working with senior stakeholders, including when the subject matter is sensitive or high profile.
