Charlotte Cane MP is seeking an enthusiastic Support Officer to join her busy constituency team in Ely for 15 hours per week on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Working closely with colleagues, you will manage a portfolio of constituent casework, particularly policy and campaign-related enquiries, while supporting Charlotte's engagement with local communities and contributing to constituency projects, events and communications.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage a portfolio of constituent casework, particularly policy and campaign-related enquiries, ensuring timely, accurate and sensitive handling.
• Liaise with constituents and stakeholders, gathering information, drafting correspondence and pursuing appropriate actions.
• Maintain accurate, confidential casework records in line with data protection requirements.
• Support constituency meetings and stakeholder engagement, including preparation and follow-up.
• Assist with constituency projects, community events and local initiatives.
• Support the Communications Officer with social media and other content.
• Undertake other reasonable duties, including occasional travel or out-of-hours working.

Person Specification

Essential
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and empathetic approach.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Sound judgement, discretion and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and contribute effectively to a team.
• Good IT skills and willingness to learn new systems.
• A commitment to public service and supporting constituents from diverse backgrounds.

Desirable
• Experience in customer service, casework, administration or another public-facing role.
• Experience working with community organisations or supporting events.
• An interest in local issues, public policy or parliamentary work.
• Experience creating social media or other communications content.
• Ability to travel across the constituency, including to locations with limited public transport.
