Job Details

Simon Lightwood MP is looking for an exceptional Digital Content and Communications Manager to lead digital storytelling and communications across his parliamentary offices.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, proactive communicator to shape the public voice of an active MP, tell the stories that matter to local people and produce content that makes a real impact.

You’ll lead on digital communications across social media, video, graphics, the website and email newsletters. You’ll identify stories, develop creative ideas, explain complex issues in accessible ways and use analytics to grow audiences and engagement. You’ll also manage media relations, liaise with local and regional media, respond to media enquiries and help secure coverage for Simon’s work and campaigns.

About you

We’re looking for someone with excellent digital content creation skills, strong video filming and editing experience, graphic design ability and a talent for storytelling. You’ll understand social media platforms, know how to create engaging content for different audiences and be confident managing multiple projects independently.

Strong written communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with journalists are essential. Experience in politics, journalism, campaigning or communications is desirable, but not essential. We care more about talent than job titles and want to see what you can create.

Applicants should have an understanding of and sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party.
