Job Title: Project Manager: Fixing the Fence

Working For: Advice Services Alliance

Location: London

Salary: £36,000

Length of Contract: At least 36 months

Job Details

We are recruiting a Project Manager to set up and deliver ‘Fixing the Fence’, a new part of our work with ethnically diverse advice providers in London.

What you’ll be doing

In conjunction with the ASA Deputy Director, you will design, deliver and manager the ‘Fixing the Fence’ Strategic Initiative project. You will help to design, promote and establish a programme of organisational and leadership development and support for frontline ethnically diverse advice service organisations, including training and events. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders including programme participants, the Project Advisory Group, the Ethnically Diverse Advice Providers Network and City Bridge Foundation.

What we’re looking for

You will need excellent project management skills including evidence of taking projects from design to delivery, an excellent understanding of community development, capacity building and/or campaigning to achieve systemic change, and an excellent understanding of evidence gathering, research, learning and evaluation. You will be a confident communicator and able to work successfully with stakeholders from a range of organisations, with an understanding of how to manage competing perspectives and power differences. You will also bring an understanding of the social welfare legal advice sector, an understanding of the issues facing organisations and the communities they serve and a commitment to human rights, social justice and access to justice.

Why this matters

Fixing the Fence is a new programme that recognises that ethnically diverse-led advice organisations have valuable insight into the structural barriers facing their clients, but often lack the capacity to develop projects that address them. Through funding, learning and network-building, participants will be able to step away from fire-fighting and use their frontline expertise in systems change projects.

The project has two main aims:

  • Addressing systemic or administrative causes of problems experienced by London’s ethnically diverse communities, preventing problems arising at an early stage.
  • Strengthening the voice, capacity and sustainability of London’s Ethnically Diverse Advice Providers.

Closing Date: 16 November 2026

Interview/Start Dates

The deadline for applications is 12 noon on closing date.

If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to in-person interview in central London on Thursday 26th November 2026.
