Job Title: Local Party Organiser
Working For: Tom Morrison MP (Cheadle) & Cheadle Liberal Democrats
Location: Cheadle (Greater Manchester)
Salary: £26,000-£28,000
Length of Contract: 6 months
Job Details
Since Tom Morrison won Cheadle in 2024, the Liberal Democrats have been on the march here. In May 2027 we have four council seats that we can gain, as well as holding a further five, and we need a brilliant organiser to help put more Lib Dem gold on the map.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role. You'll get volunteers out on the doorstep, keep our print operation running at full tilt, turn data into doors knocked and make sure councillors and campaigners have everything they need to win.
This is a full-time, office-based role in Cheadle Hulme (37.5 hours a week), split across two contracts: 60% (22.5 hours) for Cheadle Liberal Democrats and 40% (15 hours) supporting Tom Morrison MP's office. You'll report to the Communications Manager.
Local party work:
• Build and advertise the canvassing schedule and action days for our target-ward campaigns
• Recruit, coordinate and look after volunteers
• Phone and email members to get them involved
• Run our print operation end to end, from Riso to bundling
• Run Connect data extracts, manage Walk Manager and train councillors on Connect
• Coordinate street letters, posters and campaign surveys
• Triage councillor requests and support the CCLD Events Team
Parliamentary work:
• Triage Tom's inbox and office phones
• Arrange Tom's advice surgeries, including venues and security bookings
What we're looking for:
• Experience recruiting and motivating volunteers
• Strong organisation and the ability to juggle deadlines
• Confidence with data and databases (Connect training provided)
• Resilience, a can-do attitude and willingness to work evenings and weekends
• Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats
Election experience, Connect or Riso skills, design skills and a driving licence would all be a bonus.
Four winnable seats, a growing team and real responsibility from day one: if you want to see your work show up on results night, we want to hear from you.
While there is an initial six month contract, we would be looking to extend to permanent.
