NB: This post is subject to a restriction under Section 9 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989, which provides that the employment of the potholder must terminate before the day in the appropriate year in which the Authority hold the meeting which they are required to hold pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Act 1972 namely the annual meeting of the Council. The post must therefore remain a fixed term post by means of the above legal requirements as a genuine business objective. Therefore a specific Local Agreement has been drawn up to provide continuous service to the potholder, who may subsequently be re-engaged.
