Simon Danczuk MP is looking for a full-time parliamentary assistant to work in his busy London office.
The successful candidate will: ensure the smooth running of the office; take overall responsibility for London diary management; provide extensive research support; advise on policy issues; draft briefing notes, parliamentary questions and other written materials as required.
Person Specification:
Excellent written communication skills.
A disciplined individual able to work independently; use their own initiative and prioritise tasks effectively.
An interest in, and knowledge of, policy - especially policy areas which are of particular interest to Simon Danczuk MP.
Some experience of dealing with the media.
An in-depth understanding of the current political landscape and issues, especially as they relate to Simon Danczuk MP's specialist policy areas.
The ability to work well with constituency office staff on key policy issues.
Experience of diary and office management (gained in an MP's office would be an advantage, but this is not essential).
An understanding of Simon Danczuk MP's work in his constituency.
Sympathetic to values and aims of the Labour Party.
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
