The Role
We are recruiting a Public Affairs Coordinator to join our Communications team in London.
The role covers a diverse set of issues. The successful candidate will be required to develop our contact programme as well as create an effective public affairs strategy. The strategy will need to incorporate both civil and military businesses and speak to UK and International audiences.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a security check to SC level as well as occasionally travel to all of our UK sites. There is potential to travel internationally.
About You
We are looking for a pro-active candidate who is enthusiastic about public affairs and can demonstrate how they used initiative to identify and exploit opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in a public affairs role, either in-house or at an agency, and be able to:
• Build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including senior civil servants and politicians
• Compellingly synthesise and explain complex, technical information to a non-expert audience
• Execute effective public affairs campaigns
• Input into Britten-Norman’s media strategy, including contributing to press releases
• Regularly brief the CEO and senior leadership team
Previous experience in aviation and managing events is preferable, but not required. Outstanding written and verbal communication is essential.
