We are looking to find a dynamic and ambitious individual to join our London office in the key role of External Affairs Manager. During a period of change and transition for the farming sector and our members, this person will contribute to creating, delivering and managing our external affairs strategy, building collaborative relationships with key external stakeholders and raising the NFU’s campaigning and lobbying profile.
About you
You will have an excellent understanding of the parliamentary process and proven
lobbying and campaigning experience. You will also have excellent communication, presentation, media and interpersonal skills.
About the role
As part of the NFU’s External Affairs team you will lead on campaigning activities and deliver a full calendar of activity within Westminster to ensure that the NFU’s campaign and lobbying priorities are delivered effectively and collaboratively.
About us
As the largest organisation that champions farmers and growers in England and Wales, the NFU is heard where it counts – locally, nationally, and internationally. It is both an exciting and challenging time for us as we develop a domestic agriculture policy, negotiate free trade deals, represent our farmer members at the heart of policy makers and promote British food and farming to a growing audience of public supporters.
Why join our team?
Working for the NFU means working alongside great people, who are recognised for their knowledge and expertise. You will have the opportunity to work with our teams across the organisation to make a difference to the shape of British food and farming for generations to come.
We offer a modern working environment, professional development and training to help you further your career, 25 days annual leave, rising to 28 after 3 years’ service (plus bank holidays), a buy and sell annual leave scheme, National Employment Savings Trust pension scheme, a performance related pay award scheme and a range of discounts through our NFU benefits employee portal.
For an informal chat about the role, please contact Olivia Seccombe via email Olivia.seccombe@nfu.org.uk or by telephone on 020 7808 6620.
