The Role We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic public affairs and policy professional to join the Influencing and Engagement team at the Money Advice Trust – one of the UK’s leading debt advice charities. This is an exciting and varied role for a highly motivated individual looking to develop their career in public affairs and policy. You will play a key role in securing policy change for people in debt, making a meaningful impact on the lives of people facing financial difficulty. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Money Advice Trust’s influencing strategy, working with the Senior Influencing Manager. You will help plan and deliver engagement activity with Parliamentarians and policy makers in Westminster and across the UK. Working across different policy areas, you will help develop and communicate our key asks to a wide range of stakeholders, including government and regulators. Responsibilities Work with the Senior Influencing Manager and Policy Lead to plan and deliver effective policy and public affairs interventions across the charity’s influencing priorities. Deliver public affairs and parliamentary lobbying interventions, including producing briefings, working on debates, Parliamentary questions, legislation and the work of select committees. Write and contribute to policy reports, briefings, consultations responses, articles and blogs, making effective use of evidence and insight from our services to support our policy arguments. Engage with external stakeholders on relevant policy issues, including regulators, think tanks, industry bodies, advice sector partners, and the wider third sector. Assist with the delivery of the Trust’s annual programme of events, including party conferences.
