Advertising is a key driver of the UK economy, consumer behaviour, and competition. The Advertising Association represents all parts of the UK’s £210bn advertising and marketing sector and acts as a vital link between industry and government. Our work touches on many key government priorities meaning that you will be exposed to political discussions on everything from digital regulation to the future of skills and the importance of British soft power on the world stage.
This is an exciting time to work in politics, particularly in the run-up to the next election. An internship with the AA offers an ideal opportunity to develop the skills which are vital for a career in public affairs. We are looking for someone with a strong political head, a proactive can-do attitude, and a willingness to bring forward and try out new ideas which will strengthen our work at Westminster and Holyrood.
Responsibilities
- Support the team with political outreach (e.g. drafting communication and organising meetings with Parliamentarians)
- Draft briefings for political and policy stakeholders and assist with policy briefing papers and responses to consultations
- Organise and attend events for political and industry stakeholders
- Various administrative tasks across the AA as required, including secretariat support for industry networks
Requirements
- A relevant degree, college qualification, or suitable work experience
- A demonstrable interest in politics
- Excellent and persuasive writing and presentation skills
- A general interest in advertising and media industries
- Self-motivated, resilient, and eager to learn
- The right to work in the UK

This internship is offered as a three-month fixed-term contract with the possibility for recruitment into a full-time position.
