Job Title: Constituency Support Manager

Job Details

Dr Ben Spencer MP is looking for a Constituency Support Manger for an initial 6-month full time contract.


Key responsibilities:

• Management of the MP’s constituency diary
• Organise and attend constituency surgeries and follow up as appropriate
• Manage the delivery of constituency events and meetings and provide on-the-day event support as required
• Oversee and progress a portfolio of constituency project work:
 o Plan, co-ordinate and manage community projects with a range of short/medium/long term goals
 o Proactively organise and deliver results on constituency campaigns and initiatives
 o Establish, identify and maintain working relationships with local stakeholders, businesses and community groups in the constituency
 o Correspond with organisations and constituents to progress work as necessary
 o Liaise with Government, local councils, the voluntary sector and others
• Casework support as necessary, under the supervision of the Senior Caseworker
• Assist other members of staff in managing the MP’s website and social media
• Deal with a large number of standard queries from members of the public by phone, email, or face to face
• Additional duties to support the wider team as required

Requirements:

• Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, and experience managing a busy diary
• The ability to manage and prioritise a demanding workload independently and meeting tight deadlines
• Proven experience of project management and ability to engage with the community
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence interacting with, and advocating on behalf of, a wide range of people
• Positive and proactive approach to work, and ability to work collectively as part of a team
• Knowledge of the Runnymede and Weybridge constituency desirable
• Familiarity with Caseworker system an advantage
• Driving license and access to own vehicle desirable

This position also offers scope for extension and career progression for those wishing to develop in the role.

Interview/Start Dates

Dr Ben Spencer will be conducting interviews on a rolling basis with a possible start date in September 2023, subject to security clearance. We reserve the right to appoint a candidate before the closing date.
