This exciting opportunity sits within our Policy and Campaigns team and will support our work to change society, ensuring sight loss is not a barrier to living life to the full. This role is a an opportunity to join the team on a Secondment or FTC for a Maternity Cover. You will play a key role within our friendly Regional Campaigns team, who lead on the local delivery of RNIB’s campaign priorities, support blind and partially sighted people to tackle issues in their local areas as well as building our network of campaign supporters and volunteers.
You’ll be responsible for the recruitment, training and on-going management of campaign volunteers, empowering them to engage with their local community and to develop and lead local campaign work. You’ll grow campaigning capacity across the East Midlands and build wider support for RNIB’s work.
You’ll be a highly effective team player and influencer, able to work alongside local politicians and other key stakeholders such as local authorities, health and social care bodies and voluntary sector partners.
You’ll work with colleagues in the central Policy and Campaigns team to feed regional insight into RNIB campaign activity and seek new opportunities to develop campaign activity across the East Midlands.
You’ll have experience of campaigning to secure change in policy and practice and be able to work with and support individuals and groups of campaigners. You’ll have an appreciation of the issues affecting blind and partially sighted people, and you’ll be a team player, able to work collaboratively and build rapport with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
