We work with doctors, patients, and other stakeholders to support good, safe patient care across the UK. We set the standards doctors and those who train them need to meet, and help them achieve them. If there are concerns these standards may not be met or that public confidence in doctors may be at risk, we can investigate, and take action if needed.

Working closely with a variety of colleagues from across the organisation, you’ll proactively manage relationships and plan and co-ordinate engagement activities. This interesting and rewarding role in a complex environment also involves providing strategic advice to GMC leadership, identifying new opportunities for collaborative projects and ensuring a shared understanding of mutual issues, agendas and goals.

An excellent communicator, networker and presenter, your professional experience must include supporting stakeholder collaboration, confidently briefing senior colleagues, monitoring relationships and delivering engagement strategies. Skilled at researching issues, analysing policies and making clear recommendations, you should be able to proactively solve problems, use our SRM system and produce regular briefings and updates in a fast-paced setting. You’ll also benefit from a background in external affairs, communications, politics or PR.

Whilst this is a hybrid role, in addition to working from home, you will be expected to work 2 days per week, from one location of choice. (We have offices based in London, Manchester, Belfast, Cardiff or Edinburgh). There is also the opportunity to travel to conferences and some meetings at locations across the UK.
