Job Details

Robert Courts MP is recruiting a full-time Caseworker to join his busy office.

Applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a small team. A good telephone manner and strong written skills are essential. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, responsible, able to use initiative and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines. Some previous experience in an MP’s office would be an advantage.

Job specification:

• Managing, tracking, and resolving casework;
• Dealing with email, letter and telephone enquiries, providing information and support to constituents on a broad range of issues including complex policy enquiries;
• Drafting letters and emails and maintaining detailed case records;
• Analysing, evaluating and interpreting data to ensure the Member is accurately informed on key issues;
• Undertaking ad hoc research and written tasks;
• Supporting the wider office as required;
• Knowledge of Caseworker.mp software would be an advantage.

The following skills are essential:

• A friendly and confident telephone manner;
• Excellent writing skills;
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel;
• Strong communication skills;
• Good political awareness and judgement;
• Ability to work quickly and calmly under pressure;
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a strong proactive work ethic;
• Educated to degree level/equivalent or possess relevant qualifications and experience for the role;
• An ability to prioritise tasks and work independently;
• An ability to exercise initiative and work in a sensitive and confidential manner in line with data protection legislation.

Support for the Conservative Party and its aims is essential.
