What you’ll be doing

This role will support NHBC’s dynamic Corporate Affairs team and the development and implementation of its Corporate Affairs strategy. You will work across NHBC’s policy areas of focus; from financial services through to housing delivery and have the opportunity to work with political stakeholders on a local and national level.

The core functions include:

  • Monitoring of relevant political activity in the Westminster and devolved parliaments.
  • Drafting briefings for events and meetings.
  • Supporting the delivery of the Corporate Affairs engagement strategy with events management, organising meetings with political stakeholders etc.
  • Helping to manage NHBC's Corporate Affairs engagement database.
  • Support for political campaigns.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A natural passion for politics and current affairs.
  • Excellent written skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - written, questioning, listening and verbal.
  • Self-motivation and able to prioritise own workload.

Education and Experience

Experience of having worked in a political environment is essential, with preference being given to candidates with over a year's experience of working in Westminster or one of the devolved parliaments.

A qualification or equivalent training in politics, law or public and social policy is desirable.
