Theo Clarke MP is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working intern to join her busy Westminster office.
The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, a very high standard of written work and be well organised. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start a career working in politics and develop their skills within a fast-paced office.
Job Details:
• Research and drafting of policy correspondence.
• Drafting briefing notes.
• Assisting with social media, writing articles and newsletters.
• There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours on occasions and travel to the constituency occasionally.
Candidates should have the following skills:
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload, which can often change at short notice
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Strong research and IT skills
A keen interest in politics and current affairs
Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party
Knowledge of the Stafford Constituency
Campaigning skills and experience an advantage
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
